Jiří Gemrot is a pragmatically minded composer, his domain, apart from composing in the spirit of Prokofiev, Stravinsky or Britten, is music direction in radio and television. Sylvie Bodorová is a leading figure in music composition in the Czech Republic. Her music blends modern techniques with ethnic and archaic elements. The Vltava (The Moldau) of Bedřich Smetana fascinates again and again - the paraphrase of Jan Trnečka is one example. Petr Wajsar is an author moving on the border of genres. He links “classical” to pop, techno, concrete music. Drummer, composer, arranger and conductor Josef Vejvoda, son of the author of the legendary polka Škoda lásky (Roll out the barrel), also combines several genres artfully and unobtrusively. The crossover approach is also presented by Martin Hybler, a sought-after composer, improviser and chamber pianist.
